New Bern & Cape Hatteras NC

Few days in New Bern.... were OK, then on to Rodanthe in the Outer Banks (OBX) near Cape Hatteras- which was FANTASTIC. Movie NIGHTS IN RODANTHE filmed here with Richard Gere.

Did some fishing and caught a couple of speckled sea trout....

Beautiful Beaches all around.... but HOT- wait for the sun to get close to horizon....

Visited both their lighthouses- including the largest in USA- which they boldly MOVED upright - on a track- over half a mile to a new spot to save it from the encroaching seas!!!

Took the free ferry to Ocracoke (veggy-soda island) to see the home of Blackbeard.....

An unusual sign advertising ??? something..not sure what???? at Ocracoke..... left Bill a bit puzzled-

Checked out the Alien Space ship in OBX.....

Ventured to Kitty Hawk to witness the historic spot the Wright Brothers did their thing....
