2019 RV TRIP- ON THE ROAD AGAIN- NORTHBOUND (WHERE ELSE YA GONNA GO WHEN YOU LIVE IN FLORIDA?)

Lucky us- we are again able to hit the road and do some exploring of this wonderful diverse world we live in! First stop was Savannah.... and upon arrival, realized that our RV fridge (which we had just dropped stupid $$ on to fix last month) was DOA.  This comes with the territory of recreational vehicle traveling of course... Not a quick easy fix unfortunately, so we went to Home Depot and picked up a minifridge to make due in the meantime.  While in Savannah, we took in the usual spots previously visited (such as downtown where we chilled with a cup of coffee at the square that Forrest Gump had his box of chocolates...) We went to Wormsloe State Park, seen below.

Next went to Murrells Inlet SC- terrific little beach town halfway from Savannah to Myrtle Beach area. Stayed at Huntington Beach State Park right on the ocean. Across the street was an incredible Sculpture Garden- GREENBROOK.  Wow and WOW again.  Been to a number of these sort of places, but this one appears to be one of THE best. Last pic is one of fellow sculpting- HIMSELF!

Next northerly niche of our journey- WILMINGTON NC. Their downtown was nice with a visit to the impressive BATTLESHIP NORTH CAROLINA which had THE MOST passionate, enthusiastic dedicated volunteers we had ever met.  Lots of Scuttlebutting....

Also in Wilmington area- A hot bed of Civil War history, the Fisher Fort (A Confederate post) was on our list of places to visit.  Site of a battle that closed off confederate supplies when the Union won- which led to the quick end of civil war shortly thereafter. Oddly, this relatively effective fort's main defense was just composed of mainly MOUNDS OF ARRANGED DIRT!
